Steve is an IP and business litigation attorney whose practice focuses on patent litigation and complex business disputes in both federal and state courts. He has litigated patent infringement cases concerning various networking and power conversion technologies. Steve has also represented technology companies in defect claims against suppliers, disputes arising out of mergers and acquisitions, and defending claims for misappropriation of trade secrets.

Before joining Vasquez, Benisek and Lindgren LLP, Steve was an associate with Morgan Miller Blair and Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he handled a wide array of commercial disputes. While in law school, Steve served as an extern for the Honorable Chief Judge Marilyn Hall Patel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco, and as an extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma of the Hong Kong High Court in Hong Kong.

Steve is a member of the California State Bar, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas.

Steve earned his A.B. from Princeton University in 2001 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2003, where he was a member of the Hastings Law Journal and a winner of the Best Oral Advocate award.

Steve serves as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCCBA), and headed up the redesign of the CCCBA website (www.cccba.org). He previously served as chair of the CCCBA delegation to the Conference of California Bar Associations, and formerly served on the Leadership Development Committee of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
