Jeff Lindgren is an IP and business attorney. Jeff represents a wide range of companies, from venture backed start-ups to large publicly traded technology companies, on all types of intellectual property matters, including IP licensing and contracts, trademark and copyright prosecution, IP-related transactions, general IP counseling, and patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, technology and business litigation matters. He also provides clients with strategic advice and assistance on many day-to-day business matters.

Prior to founding Vasquez Benisek & Lindgren LLP, Jeff worked at Cooley Godward LLP and Morgan Miller Blair, where his practice focused in intellectual property, corporate and white collar crime matters. While at Cooley Godward, Jeff served a 3-month stint in the Alameda County District Attorney’s office as part of the firm’s pro bono DA program.

  • Defended three LED technology company clients accused of patent infringement in Massachusetts federal court in Trustees of Boston University v. Epistar, et al., on claims involving LED chips.
  • Defended LED packaging company client accused of patent infringement in Eastern District of Texas federal court in Nichia Corp. v. Everlight Electronics, et al., on claims involving LED packages.
  • Defended network equipment company client accused of patent infringement in Eastern District of Texas federal court in Net Navigation Systems LLC v. Extreme Networks, Inc. on claims involving networking products.
  • Defended network equipment company client accused of patent infringement in District of Delaware federal court in ReefEdge Networks LLC v. Extreme Networks, Inc., et al., in claims involving wireless networking products.
  • Defended two network equipment companies accused of patent infringement in the District of Delaware federal court in Chalumeau Power Systems v. Avaya, Inc., et al., where plaintiff claims Power over Ethernet switch products infringe its patent.
  • Defended media company client accused of patent infringement in Eastern District of Virginia federal court in Triangle Software v. Garmin International, et al., where plaintiff claimed its fire patents covered web-based traffic mapping systems.
  • Defended two power supply companies accused of patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas federal court in SynQor, Inc. v. Artesyn, et al.,where the plaintiff claims certain DC/DC converters infringe on a number of patents allegedly directed at Intermediate Bus Architecture power converter systems.
  • Defended network equipment company accused of patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas federal court in Network 1 v. Cisco Systems, Inc., et al. where plaintiff claims its patent reads on the IEEE 802.3af standard for “Power over Ethernet.”
  • Defended two network switch companies accused of patent infringement in Eastern District of Texas federal court in Fenner Investments, LLC v. 3Com, et.al.
  • Defended four wireless network equipment companies accused of patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas federal court in CSIRO v. Toshiba, et al. where plaintiff claimed its patent reads on the IEEE 802.11a, 802.11g and 802.11n (draft) wireless standards.
  • Defended five network equipment manufacturers in District of Delaware federal court in Proxim v. 3Comand the International Trade Commission (ITC) In Re Wireless Network Interface Cards, from allegations of patent infringement based on patents allegedly reading on 802.11b wireless systems.
